Solar electric systems (Solar PV)
generate inexpensive, green electricity by converting sunlight
into electrical power without movement, noise, pollution or fuel

Energy from the sky

Solar electricity is generated using PV (Photovoltaic) cells

Made from layers of semi-conducting material, usually silicon, enclosed in a glass or plastic casing.
Groups of cells are anchored together in panels or modules that can be mounted on your roof

The stronger the sunlight, the more electricity produced.

Solar PV panels take energy from sunlight rather than temperature and can still generate a substantial amount of electricity on cloudier days.

The UK tends to have a reliable number of average sunlight hours annually, meaning that our climate is perfect for the use of solar PV panels. In full sunlight, the cells’ strength is measured in kWp (kilowatt peak)

Solar PV panels take no more than a maximum of three days for installation and will usually be up and running within a few hours.

Is solar PV the energy solution for me?

Yes, IF…

You have a roof or wall that is exposed to sunlight all day (within 90 degrees of south)

Your roof has enough space and can withstand the weight of the panels

(A 3kW system will need around 24m2 of roof space)

How does a solar PV system work?

  • The panels convert sunlight into DC electricity
  • This is then passed through an Inverter so it is AC electricity
  • The AC electricity then travels through a meter to record the amount of Kilowatts it has produced
  • Then it travels into the existing AC Installation, where it can be used if needed or exported back to the national grid
  • Quality panels, components and an inverter guarantee a reliable system

Leverage the industry’s longest-standing experience

Long-term partnerships are built on trust, strength, and reliability.
When Sharp’s competitors started entering the market in the late 1990s, Sharp already had about 40 years of experience with a wide range of solar panel applications

Spread the cost of your solar panels

With our interest-free finance option you could get a typical 6 panel (2.16 kWp) solar system installed at your home for £332.92 per month over 12 months. This 6-panel system with on-roof solar panels starts from just £3,995, and a 14-panel (5.04 kWp) system from just £6,259.

Solar panels are a great way to generate your own electricity by using the sun’s energy, and by adding battery storage could give you annual savings of up to £705 per year on your energy bills and reduce the carbon footprint of your home.

It all adds up – having one of these packages installed at your home could save you as much as £37,581 over 25 years.

Prices can vary depending on the amount of panels you require, if your roof is in full sun or partial shade and what type of solar panels you want to have.
