Myth 1: “Solar doesn’t work in cloudy weather.”
Wrong. While panels produce more electricity in direct sunlight, they still generate power on cloudy days. Modern solar technology captures diffuse light, so even in the UK, you can produce plenty of clean energy year-round.
Myth 2: “It’s too expensive.”
The cost of solar has dropped dramatically over the last decade. With finance options, grants, and export payments available, it’s now one of the most affordable long-term energy solutions for homeowners.
Myth 3: “Solar panels require constant maintenance.”
Solar panels are mostly self-sufficient. Aside from an occasional clean to remove dirt or debris, there’s very little to do. Most systems run for decades with minimal upkeep.
Myth 4: “I’ll lose power if it’s dark.”
Solar systems are always connected to the grid (unless you’re fully off-grid). When your panels aren’t generating at night, your home automatically draws from stored battery power or the grid—so the lights stay on.
